History of Colla Voce
In February 2007 seeds were planted to start an after school choir for girls.
This choir would be to learn to sing along with
providing a safe place for adolescent girls to share experiences.

Colla Voce is the Italian phrase meaning 'follow the voice'.
Colla Voce is a girl's choir offering a high quality musical experience for any adolescent girls who wish to be dedicated to the organization.
Our goal is to provide successful music-making experiences as well as educational opportunities for each girl to learn how to nurture her body, mind and spirit.

| Between February and May, 2007, a group of dedicated volunteers began writing grants and spreading the word. Significant contributions of time and talent have been invested. Membership dues for each participant are $65. We do not want membership in the group to be cost prohibitive to any girl. Grant money and donations are helping with start-up costs. |
In September, 2007, the first choir was formed. Thirty girls began singing together. The first concert is December 10, 2007.
